Find the original article
Each AMP page identifies its corresponding standard page with a canonical link in the document’s metadata. A visible link also lets readers open that version. The technical link describes the relationship between the pages; it does not guarantee indexing, ranking or endorsement by a search engine.
Stay with the selected language
An English AMP article should correspond to the English standard article, with equivalent relationships for the other languages. Use the language controls deliberately rather than assuming that every page on the AMP domain is in one language. A domain name alone does not establish the language of the content.
Know which controls are available
This package’s AMP pages focus on navigation and reading and do not store a reading list in the browser. Use the standard version if you want its optional saved-list feature. Article updates also need to remain consistent across the published versions so that readers are not given conflicting explanations.
A quick checklist
- Use the standard-version link when you need the original view.
- Keep the article language consistent across both versions.
- Return to standard pages for the optional saved reading list.
